Evaluation of Different Aspects and Types of Existing Rules and Regulations of the Veterinary Profession in European States

This project explores several aspects of regulation of the veterinary profession in the European Member States and other European States (Switzerland, Norway, Iceland). It is part of an important study about regulations and their effects on markets.

In order to collect and compile the types of existing rules and regulations of the veterinary profession in Europe, we conducted a postal survey. Topics of the questionnaire were different aspects of regulations like qualification of veterinarians, specialization, requirements to practice as a veterinarian, professional conduct and remuneration. Based on the survey results, we will analyse the sources of law and the existing types of rules and regulations in order to get a deeper understanding of the regulatory ystems of the veterinary profession in the European states.

The Survey:

The survey is addressed to legal experts involved in the topic of regulation in professional associations, chambers and other regulatory bodies.
