Pharmacists in Europe
Evaluation of Different Aspects and Types of Existing Rules and Regulations of the Pharmacy Profession in the European States
This project explores several aspects of regulation of the pharmacy profession in the European member states and other European States (Norway, Switzerland, Bosnia-Herzegowina, Iceland). It is part of an important study about regulations and their effects on markets.
In order to collect and compile the types of existing rules and regulations of the pharmacy profession in Europe, we conducted a postal survey. Topics of the questionnaire were different aspects of regulations like qualification of pharmacists, specialisation, requirements to practice as a pharmacist, professional conduct and remuneration. Based on the survey results, we will analyse the sources of law and the existing types of rules and regulations in order to get a deeper understanding of the systems of regulation concerning the pharmacy profession in the European states.
The Survey:
The survey is addressed to legal experts involved in the topic of regulation in ministries of health (or social affairs), state bodies like supervision authorities, pharmacy councils, chambers and professional associations.
