Curriculum Vitae

Dirk Michel studied law in Cologne. Since 2003 he has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Labour and Economic Law of the University of Cologne. In 2012 Dirk Michel assumed the position of chief executive for the European Centre for Liberal Professions.

So far he collaborated in several research projects. The projects focused on topics such as Company Law, paying particular attention to freelance partnerships, the right to self- determination, questions relating to Corporate Governance as well as the employment law of lawyers.

Curriculum Vitae

Since autumn 2009 Oliver Arentz has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Economic Policy of the University of Cologne.

He graduated in Economics, Sociology and Statistics from the University of Cologne. He also received a certificate from the faculty confirming his expertise in housing industry. From 2004 to 2009 he worked as a research assistant  at the Seminar of Economic Policy, Prof. Johann Eekhoff.

After obtaining his doctoral degree he transfered to the Institute for Research about middle class (IfM) in Bonn in 2010.

Since 1 July 2011 Oliver Arentz has been working once more as a research assistant and assistant director at the Institute for Economic Policy.

Tim Conen studied Law at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg im Breisgau, focussing on aspects of labour and social law. He successfully completed his first state exam in January 2018 and started working as a research assisstant in the European Centre of Liberal Professions of the University of Cologne in July 2018. He is also currently working on his doctoral thesis in the field of labour law, which is being supervised by Prof. Dr. Henssler.

Curriculum Vitae

Julia Pommerening studied law at the Universidade Clássica de Lisboa as well as at the University of Cologne. Since 2013 she has been working as a research assistant at the European Centre for Liberal Professions of the University of Cologne.

Currently Julia Pommerening is writing a doctoral thesis on a comparative labour law-related topic under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Martin Henssler. During her studies she specialised in European law.
